Zouk
There are two types of Zouk - the Caribbean version and the one I'm talking about here, which is Brazilian Zouk.
Brazilian Zouk is a modern and versatile dance that stands out for its ability to be danced to an incredibly wide range of music genres: RnB, Hip Hop, Pop, Ghetto Zouk, Reggaeton, and more.
This versatility is also reflected in the dance itself, which has evolved from Lambada and incorporates elements from Hip Hop, Contemporary, Kizomba, Samba, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Modern Dance, and others. Notably, it features spins, body isolations, cambrés, and head movements.
However, it's not just about the steps, but mainly about the connection between the dancers. This allows for breaking away from the traditional rhythm and completely surrendering to the music.
Originally hailing from Rio, Brazilian Zouk has found its way into the hearts of the new generation, especially in São Paulo, where it has been further developed and gained popularity.
With Brazilian Zouk, you'll immerse yourself in a world where passion, musicality, and freedom come together - a dance that continually unveils new facets and will captivate you.
Here are 2 examples and completely different styles - both belong to Modern Zouk. There is so much more :-)
